– In this story Connies relationship with her family was distance from mother, father, and sister. Because Connies has the beautiful and pretty image of her mother young life. Connies let her beautiful go to her head and her mother see that in her. Which was the reason her mother kept picking at her. It was not because she was jealous of her daughter pretty. But she was letting her know it more to life than being beautiful and pretty. Which make Connies wished her mother was death and she herself was dead and it was all over in her mind thinking. Connies did not like cause her sister was plain and chunky. She thought her sister June was her mother favor daughter and father work all the time, read the newspaper, eat supper, just talk to them a little and go to bed. Which seen to Connies that he was distance himself from them.
In my opinion mother going to tell you what right or wrong, if you like it or not. Children should be glad to have a mother who care and fuss. But a child should never wished their mother dead. In this story Connies mother can see the attitude and thinking of her mind. Connies was a daughter who want attend and her pretty went to her mind. She thought that her mother did not like her. She favor her sister June. But mother can see Connies was heading for trouble one day. Connies did run into Arnold Friend an evil person who prey on young girls that cause her trouble at the end of the story.
– Connies relationship with her family is dysfunctional. There is no tenderness in the relationship with Connie and her family. Connies mom criticizes her about everything that she does. She states that Connie gawks at herself and thinks she is so pretty. She always favors Connies sister, June, over her. Connie even goes as far as wishing her mom were dead. Meanwhile, her dad is always away at work. When he comes from work, he reads the newspaper and eat supper. After supper, he goes to bed. He does not spend any time with Connie or her family. Connies sister, June, was the good girl who did everything right. The mom wanted Connie to be just like her sister.
