-What is meant by the words “blues” in the title? After reading the story blues can demonstrate the way Sonny feels in inside as he grew up in poverty neighborhoods with black African American people and he is a young boy that wanted to move out of Harlem at an early age. Holding thing inside and staying silent to himself thinking that nobody care or know what he going through and turn to heroin drug to get a release from depression or anger in his life. . Also, blues can relate to Sonny’s music of letting out his anguish, sadness, risk of destruction, madness, and death in order to find new ways. The blues music helps Sonny to put a new light on his life.

What are Sonny’s blues? Sonny’s blues was his struggle to recover from heroin drug, thinking about how he hurt his family, especially his brother after being locked up in prison. Everyone that loves him hurts them and doesn’t know how to make it up to them. Sonny’s blues music helps him to express the pain and suffering that he has been going through for years. After his brother’s daughter dies from polio then he reaches out to Sonny because he found out that family means a lot in his life.

In my opinion, everyone has blues in their life. Which causes them to listen to music. It can be gospel, rapper, or melody music. Sometimes music will help you to deal with anger or depression in your life. Music will help to calm your mind thinking.

Also, the representation of his emotions when trouble came. What are Sonny’s blues? The narrative tells of Sonny, a young jazz musician from Harlem, New York, who becomes addicted to heroin, is jailed for using and selling narcotics. It perfectly describes in the text on how he had to face his problems through music. After returning to his boyhood neighborhood following his release from prison, his music talked about the sadness and how he deals with it through music. Living in a African American community in those days was very harsh for a young man addicted to drugs.

How would you describe the relationship between these two brothers? Sonny and his brother had a strained relationship from the start of the novel. Their lack of interactions is characterized by guilt and unfulfilled expectations. Sonny, according to his older brother, is incapable of handling responsibility. Sonny believes that his brother does not understand him. Even though the siblings have followed separate courses in life, they both come from the same struggle, pain, and misfortune. Sonny and his brother are both residents of Harlem, New York. The environment is highly significant in this story. Harlem is a tough neighborhood to live in.
