Full research paper is due on September 13th.
Chapter 1 – Introduction
provides an overview of the research paper and has the following subheadings: Background to Topic; Problem of Study; Purpose of the Study; Delimitation; Research objectives and research questions; significance of the study; definitions of key terms.
Chapter 2 – Literature Review
This Chapter provides a discussion of the literature. It should be done in a thematic way where you organise the information from the journal articles according to themes. Themes are derived from your research questions: for eg. RQ is: “What are the factors influencing climate change?”; the Theme for the literature review would be “Factors Influencing Climate Change”
Chapter 3- Methodology
This Chapter explains the research approach, designs and methods of the study.
The sections for this Chapter are as Follows:
Research approach, research design, Methods: Participants (here you describe the population, sampling technique and sample size), Instrumentation (here you describe the tool that will be used to collect the data, fo eg. A questionnaire. State the number of items, statetype of items and state what constructs they are aligned to), Procedure (to section has 3 elements: a. Recruitment of Participants – say how you willbe engaging them) b. Data collection procedure- this is where you identify and explain your data collection method, for eg: online surveys or indepth interviews, c. Data Analysis Plan – this is where you explain how the data will be Analysed, state the steps involved in the process… for eg. Steps to conducting a content analysis. Ethical Considerations- this section explains the steps that you will take to protect the participants … you must address the main ethical standards of anonymity, confidentiality, do no harm, maleficent, beneficence, informed consent etc., Limitations – this is where you discuss the disadvantages of the various methods that you have employed in the study. So you are required to describe the disadvantages of choing the research approach, research design, the sampling technique, the instrument, the data collection method, and the data analysis plan.
Chapter 4- Results
This is where you present the findings according to your research questions. You’re required to simply describe the findings and use tables and or diagrams to present the findings.
Chapter 5 – Discussion and Conclusion
Here you explain the findings using the literature from Chapter 2. So you’re expected to summarise the main findings state if the findings is similar or different from the literature. Additionally you would explain why the findings may be as it is. Here you can use the theories to explain the reasons.
Based on the discussion you’re expected to make some conclusions relative to the problem of your study.
Based in the conclusions drawn you are required to may recommendations.
This is two-fold: 1. IMPLICATIONS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH – here you make recommendations as to what future researchers may do related to this same topic.
2. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE
here you recowhat could be done to remedy the problem you studied. These recommendations should be support by the literature
