1.There are 4 types of leadership guidelines:
- Developing implementation documentation
- Developing a culture that revolves around a sense of urgency
- Developing process communication channels for success
- Creating a learning culture
Of these four steps my top three that should be kept in mind as the strategies or plans of implementation move ahead are as follows:
Developing implementation documentation is first on my list. Record keeping is great for several reason such as tracking what has worked/not worked, being able to see how the plan has changed and developed over the course of implementation, developing a framework for employees to follow when trying to recreate the task each year when reassessing the processes or polices and accountability. In our power point presentation, it states Documentation gives substance to a workplaces activities not only for legal matters, audits, or disputes but also for rules and regulations. It would be very difficult for employees, and supervisors remember everything on a daily basis. When we document it removes, doubt, confusion, and misquoted information. (Insurance Benefits Guide 2017).
To help support the documentation process, putting together a solid plan for communication channels is a great way to help remove barriers before they appear. Ensuring that all stakeholders who are involved in the strategic process are communicated with clearly and concisely helps departments to build coalitions which in turns helps support any type of strategic plan in the business as all involved are always up to date with the most current version. A great way to have this happen is to utilize platforms like Microsoft Teams or Slack with a dedicated channel where documents can be edited and shared in real time. It also supplies an easy way of storing that documentation mentioned above.
My final guideline of choice is creating a learning culture. When you create a culture that embraces learning, you are creating a culture that accepts change and process improvement more willingly. This culture will help support goals and innovation within the business as well. This culture creates a place where innovation and process improvement are welcomed and encouraged. All of these things benefit the business in support their long and short term goals.
2.Hello,
Three leadership guidelines that should be kept in mind include: managing implementation in a strategic and conscious way, developing strategy documents that can be used to focus on actions, decisions, and responsible parties. Also, making sure that choosing changes that can quickly and without doubt be put into place, because the most important thing is to be able to see progress can being made. These three leadership guidelines were chosen because they are the largest and most significant issues to address when a person or a business would like to see results. Consciously and deliberately plan and manage implementation in a strategic way, try for changes that can be introduced easily and rapidly, and emphasize learning (Bryson, 2011). As a student learning the process of strategic planning the first importance of these leadership guidelines that I decided on was consciously and deliberately plan, second developing strategy documents, and lastly manage implementation in a strategic way. My understanding of this is having to recognize the differences between the different members roles on the team. Developing strategy documents is important because of the action it takes within budgeting and project resource, scheduling, and accountability. Budgeting and project resources helps with accomplishing the goal of the objective. Scheduling reduces the amount of unorganized work for the company and allows the company to be able to plan ahead for future updates or projects. Accountability helps narrow the confusion of the workforce policies and misunderstanding of what the organization is requesting or believes in.
