Identify a Problem that You Would Like to Research
Due to the current water crisis in Jackson, MS, I am interested in researching the rainfall in the Jackson area. Recent rainfall and long-term neglect led to the overwhelming of the Jackson water treatment system. Now residents are without running water.
Collect Data Relevant to Your Problem
The data that I have collected comes from www.weather.gov (Links to an external site.) which is operated by the National Weather Service. I have collected the precipitation in inches for the month of August in the Jackson area for the last three years.
Calculate Three Descriptive Statistics or Measures

Which one, in Your Opinion, is the Best Measure?
In my opinion, the totals and the means are the best measures to investigate the rainfall in the Jackson area. The mode reveals no useful information, while the median is not helpful either. The totals and the means illustrate that rainfall has been increasing in the Jackson area for the last few years. In fact, the rainfall in the Jackson area during August has doubled since August 2020.

The research problem I chose is one our instructor gave an example on. I will be researching how the weather fluctuates in Jackson, Mississippi during the month of February. Daily high temperatures increase by 7°F, from 59°F to 66°F, rarely falling below 44°F or exceeding 78°F.
Daily low temperatures increase by 6°F, from 39°F to 45°F, rarely falling below 26°F or exceeding 59°F according to weather spark. The three measures I used were mean, mode, and median. I calculate the mean, mode, and median for 28 days with temperatures starting with Day 1 34°F, 41°F, 43°F, 43°F, 43°F, 45°F, 45°F, 45°F, 50°F, 52°F, 55°F, 55°F, 55°F, 55°F, 59°F, 60°F, 61°F, 61°F, 63°F, 63°F, 64°F, 64°F, 66°F, 70°F, 70°F, 72°F, 75°F, 79°F. The mean is 56.14. The mode is 55. The median is 57. The mean is the best measure for this research in my opinion.

The term “divine inspiration” refers to God’s controlling influence over human authors that wrote the Old and New Testaments (Chafer, 1993). About forty human authors wrote over 1,600 years, and their writings are in harmony with each other as they communicate God’s gospel message to all humanity.
Two scriptures in the New Testament provide support for this doctrine. The first is 2 Timothy 3:16, which says, “all scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (ESV Study Bible, 2008). The second is 2 Peter 1:21, which reads, “for no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (ESV Study Bible, 2008).
We associate the doctrine of divine inspiration with Christianity because the scriptures of the New Testament, as noted above, specifically support this truth. While the scriptures provide evidence of the fact of inspiration, they do not specifically explain the details of the phenomenon (Chafer, 1993). Like other miracles, inspiration is something to be believed by faith rather than proven.

In my opinion, the term “divine inspiration” could be defined several different types of ways and would depend on how the individual viewed their perceptions of their logic of the word divine. To me, divine inspiration means that one is triggered to create or invent something because God has moved in their spirit to follow through with this task or assignment to fulfill.
Biblically, divine inspiration can be viewed as acts of righteousness and often would lead followers of Christ to become a part of something bigger than themselves with a spiritual awakening that will drive the inspiration in the right direction ultimately having an impact on many once it is completed. 2 Peter 1:21 “For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit”.
