PEER Christia Jackson (She/Her)WednesdaySep 7 at 9:38amManage Discussion EntryAfter learning about the distinct types of social work the two that I am most interested in learning about are Occupational and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Social Work and Mental Health and Clinical Social Work. EAP social workers offer employees support for personal and workplace problems that can affect both their output at work as well as enjoyment of their personal life. Most EAPs help with substances abuse and mental health issues but can cover family issues, wellness concerns, and retirement planning. Mental Health and Clinical social workers collaborate with vulnerable individuals such as children, adults, or the elderly, as well as individuals from all social, financial, and ethnic classes. Clinical social workers help those who may have financial difficulties, behavioral, health, and social issues. With Clinical social work it primarily focuses on the individual whereas EAP social work uses a broader lens and involves larger groups and organizations.
