I’m working on a education & teaching exercise and need a sample draft to help me understand better.

In TEPC 5500, you were encouraged to keep a table of various learner groups and the laws and protections afforded to them by state. Now that you have an understanding of what is required to ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn, make a complete chart that includes

• The sub-category or “label” of each protected student group
• The law(s, both federal and state) pertaining to the protection of that group
• What rights are guaranteed to the protected students under the law

The learner groups that need to be covered are:

Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, ELL and LGBT Students

The state is LOUISIANA

There is an assignment already posted on this website (Please see attached), but it is for the state of Texas, so I just need the state laws changed from Texas to Louisiana and LGBT students need to be added.

RUBRIC:

The chart of learner protections must address both of the major special education laws: Section 504 or IDEA, and all of the major protected groups including students with learning disabilities, students with physical disabilities, students with other cognitive impairements, ELL students. The chart must also address protections for other groups, including students with mental illness, students with concurrent special needs and LGBT students.
